Greetings and welcome to a unique and exciting experience. This course participates in the Transformative Sustainability Project (TSP), a collaborative virtual exchange educational program between faculty and students at AUS in the UAE and Dickinson College and Haverford College in the USA.
This project, funded by the Stevens Initiative, seeks to give participants the tools to transform their local and global contexts into more sustainable communities, starting from the classroom. Participants will gain specialized knowledge on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, critically approach problems and constructively debate solutions, and evaluate and apply their knowledge in individual and group contexts across cultural and geographical boundaries. Students are encouraged to meaningfully engage with colleagues, consider diverse views, and respectfully learn inside and outside the classroom.
Upon successful completion of this course, all participants will receive a certificate of completion from the TSP. In addition, students will be able to join an alumni program offering opportunities for future career guidance through mentoring, virtual career fairs, etc.
On this site, you will find all the information about our collaboration, including its focus and goals, the texts we will explore, assigned activities, and our schedule.
We look forward to learning with you!
